Sustainability Policy of Toplift

At Toplift we want to make the best we can to help our society for a better climate, reduced reductions and sustainability. The current actions are taken to reduce our footprint and work towards sustainability;

  • We sort our packing materials (plastic separated from cardboard), and brought to recycling.
  • We try to reuse cardboard boxes as far as possible, if it could still protect the good very very well (as a customer you might find it seems the carton was used before, this is why).
  • We gladly take the extra time and work effort to cut down boxes when there are too much excess space inside the box, so that the transporters can pack their cargo more efficient and do not transport “unnecessary air” (indirectly we are helping to reduce the needed amount of transports).
  • When buying usables we select recyclable materials (such as tape for instance) instead of the cheaper non reusable products.
  • We keep the temperature as low as possible (that is practically workable from work ethic principals).
  • With every shipment from Toplift, if there is a practical carbon compensation fee readily available, we take the cost for this and select this options (most time currently when UPS are used for international shipments). For national shipments we use DB Schenker where every package is climate compensated. So the very majority of all single shipment from Toplift to customers are in fact climate compensated.
  • We actively select to purchase only green electricity and take the extra cost for this.
  • We are encouraging suppliers and manufacturers to think, work and develop products and freight options with the environment in mind, so they know this is an important issue for us.
  • We actively avoid to source products from China or Russia, and try to search for suppliers geographically as close to us as possible, in order to not create unnecessary transports. Currently we only have suppliers from Europe and Sweden, and to a very small extent USA. With this focus in mind (i.e. sourcing close to us), our suppliers might still be using parts or products from countries far away (as for example China). We do encourage our suppliers to to source their parts and products from sub suppliers as close to our own market as possible.
  • Working together with suppliers, Toplift continuously develop and refine our work. All suppliers must comply with the social rights in their country of operations. Under no circumstance may child labour occur. Under no circumstances may punishment of staff occur at our suppliers. National working conditions such as minimum wages, maximum working hours and safety standards myst be strictly adhered to. Toplift visit our suppliers to ensure the work is in line with our ambitions, and under continuous improvement.
  • We try to save every document digitally (only book keeping papers are kept in paper at the moment).
  • We love to send digital invoices to company customer instead on paper, no charge for this of course.
  • We make so few purchases as possible (i.e. for work clothes, and other useables are kept at a bare minimum).
  • We are happily answering questions on environmental questions from customers (we try our very best). For example some customers are asking about and wanting REACH material for car floor mat textile carpets, then this is what we supply.

For the future, we try to have a little surplus of funds from our business, that we plan to invested into solar panels to our roof of the showroom and a local battery storage unit, so we can also get a little better energy backup in the event of shortages in addition to better use of the electricity locally produced from the sun.

We will also, as funds might hopefully be available over time, upgrade the car pool to more eco friendly alternatives, in order to reduce the emissions when we are out traveling.

If you have questions about our work and efforts to try and improve our climate effects you are very welcome to get in contact with us. Also, if you have tips or recommendations that we are not aware of, we would very much encourage you to get in contact to let us know how we might improve even further.

We hope you appreciate all the work we put into (our very best efforts from our prerequisites) trying to improve our common environment.
