Experience the full cabriolet pleasure of your VW Eos. The SmartTOP module allows one-touch console control on the go with the mere tap of the button. It also turns your factory remote control Key Fob into a multi-tasking device that can be used to remotely open and close your convertible top, windows and sunroof, even separately
This SmartTOP fit the Volkswagen EOS, all model years.
These are the key features (that you can set to active, or not) of this SmartTop:
- Remote control of convertible top Open/Close your convertible top using the original factory remote control key / key fob.
- Open/Close the top while driving Never have to stop again for your top: Open/Close your top while driving. Speed programmable up to 44kmh.
- One-Touch power convertible top “One-Touch” convertible top operation allows your top to open or close automatically.
- Text setup in LCD (up to MY2009) Configure functions of the module to meet your personal preferences via our full text setup menu.
- Passive / Invisible mode Turn the whole module off with an easy key sequence. Ideal when letting someone else drive your car.
- Top convenience mode Turning the ignition on or off does not interrupt convertible top operation.
- Comfort window operation One-Touch operation of all 4 windows via the driver’s door switches.
- Separate window control Raise and lower the windows separately by remote without activating the top.
- Chirp-signal function When locking and/or unlocking the car, the horn sounds briefly if desired.
- Hazard Signals Optionally the hazard blinkers are activated while top is operated from the remote.
- Automatic door locks Set power locks to automatically lock and unlock the doors when you drive.
- Sunroof One-Touch Windows and sunroof can now be closed automatically at the touch of one button.
- Mirror Park Assist This feature can automatically dip down the passenger mirror in reverse gear.
- Hitch lockout bypass Enable or disable the factory hitch lock-out to allow use of the convertible top with hitch connected.
- Invert switch logic Direction of center console top and sunroof switch can be changed to “pull to open” and “push to close”.
- Reversible plug-in installation Remove any time allowing sale or return of a leased vehicle in it’s original condition.
- Plug-n-Play Wiring harness Custom designed plug-in-between wiring harness for extremely simple and quick installation included.
- USB Port for easy setup / updates This module can be configured and updated using any Mac or PC.

I wonder why this is not a original feature to the Eos? It solves all the things I have not been pleased with from before; like it was not possible before to open/close the roof while driving (like when the traffic lights turn green before the roof is up/down), or that you had to hold down the button all time and not be able to put on the safety belt or do other small things at the same time – and of course the remote control of the roof, to be able to prepare the car while walking to it. Everything saves a little time, and make the usage more spontane and joyful, just like a convertible ought to be!
The installation was quite simple, once you got to the connection point.

Lots of extra features to the car, apart from the possibility to remotely control the roof (vw Eos -07).
One touch maneuvering of windows, both via the remote or from the door. The right side mirror automatically turns down to show obstacles when you put in reverse and lots of other features.
I agree with others saying that this thing should be included from start in the car.
But I am very pleased with the installation, a great customer support and a well functioning smart top module.
If I known there was a sauna at hand, I would not have waited until the summer to have it installed….
